Aid Recalculation Policy

All undergraduate students are initially awarded assuming full time enrollment (12 or more units per semester). If a student’s enrollment status changes at any time during the semester, their financial aid award(s) may be increased or decreased before and throughout the term.

Students will be responsible for repaying any portion of the aid they are deemed ineligible to receive as a result of their enrollment changes.

Students Not Enrolled Full Time (12 or more units)

Fall 2016

If you are not enrolled in at least 12 units by the end of June or by August 1st, your aid may be adjusted down to reflect your point-in-time enrollment.

If you later add units so you are enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 units) either before or during the first two weeks of the 15-week session classes (last day to drop without a W), your aid will be re-reviewed and reinstated to full time aid eligibility by mid-September. Courses must be added by the last day to drop without a W to be included in your enrollment for financial aid purposes.

Spring 2017

If you are not enrolled in at least 12 units by January 5, your aid may be adjusted down to reflect your point-in-time enrollment.

If you later add units so you are enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 units) either before or during the first two weeks of the 15-week session classes (last day to drop without a W), your aid will be re-reviewed and reinstated to full time aid eligibility by the end of January. Students Enrolling in Five or Seven Week Session Courses

If you are enrolled or plan to enroll in later starting five or seven-week session courses (either the second seven or five-week session and the third five-week session), your aid will be reviewed based on the add and drop deadlines for the applicable session(s). Courses must be added by the last day to drop without a W to be included in your enrollment for financial aid purposes.

Refunds and Financial Aid Recalculation

If you receive a refund from the University of Arizona and subsequently change your enrollment, you may be required to repay all or a portion of the refund in addition to charges incurred as a result of your change in financial aid eligibility.

Whether or not you receive a tuition and fee refund has no bearing on the amount you may be required to repay.
