Pell Recalculation Policy

The Pell Recalculation Policy only applies to Undergraduate students eligible to receive the Federal Pell Grant.

Undergraduate students eligible for the Federal Pell Grant who make enrollment changes during the semester may be subject to Pell Recalculation which requires an adjustment to the Federal Pell Grant based on the change in the student's enrollment.

The Pell Recalculation Dates for each semester are determined based on the dates and deadlines for each session within the semester; including the 15-week session, the two-seven week sessions, the three-five week sessions and any dynamically dated sessions as well.

Students Enrolling in the 15-Week Session Courses Only

Fall 2017

If you are not enrolled in at least 12 units by August 24th, your Pell Grant and all other aid will be adjusted to a part-time status and released to you beginning the week of August 28th.

If you later add (or drop) units during the first two weeks of the 15-week session classes (no later than the last day to drop without a W), your Pell Grant will be re-reviewed and adjusted to match your new enrollment status. Courses must be added by the last day to drop without a W to be included in your enrollment for financial aid purposes.

Refunds and Financial Aid Recalculation

If you receive a refund from the University of Arizona and subsequently change your enrollment, you may be required to repay all or a portion of the refund in addition to charges incurred as a result of your change in financial aid eligibility.

Whether or not you receive a tuition and fee refund has no bearing on the amount you may be required to repay.
