FAQ - If my financial aid is different as a result of the change to not consider the number in college, what are my options?

Question
If my financial aid is different as a result of the change to not consider the number in college, what are my options?
Answer

The FAFSA still collects information on the number of family members in college, however, it won’t have the same impact on your financial aid eligibility as it had in the past.

Please be aware that there may be options for you/your family to report costs associated with the additional family members enrolled in college, to our office. If the additional family members in college creates a documented financial hardship, our office can work with you to file a FAFSA Data Appeal.
