Types of Aid: Undergraduate Grants
Grants are often called “gift aid” because they are free money – money that does not have to be repaid. Grants are also often need-based and can come from a variety of sources such as the federal government, state government or the University of Arizona.
Arizona Assurance
An invitation-only academic support and financial aid program for Arizona resident first-year students.
Arizona Promise Grant
A state grant program that covers the cost of tuition, fees and the college fee for qualifying Pell-eligible Arizona residents.
Arizona Native Scholars Grant
An institutional grant program that ensures tuition, fees, and the college fee are fully covered for Native, Arizona Resident, Undergraduate students.
Achievement Award
A need-based, institutional grant award reserved for Non-Arizona Resident undergraduates.
Earn to Learn
A need-based scholarship program that teaches financial literacy, and rewards students and families who are committed to saving money to attend the University of Arizona.
Federal Pell Grant
A federal grant provided to eligible students by the Department of Education based on a student’s Student Aid Index (SAI).
