Accept Your Federal Direct Loans

Federal Student Aid Update - Week of August 3, 2026

Due to federally mandated updates and related system upgrades for the 2026–2027 academic year, some financial aid offers remain delayed, and federal student and parent loan acceptance is not yet available for all students.

Our team is working diligently on getting these processes updated and open to you as soon as possible. Students will be notified by email as soon as their financial aid offer or loan acceptance is ready.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Fall 2026-Spring 2027 Federal Direct Loan Dates

In general, loans can begin to be accepted in mid-July for the following academic year (fall and spring semester) and must be accepted by the last day of the semester in which you attend.

A student is no longer eligible for loan funds if they cease attendance or their enrollment becomes less than halftime and the loans were not accepted before the enrollment change.

Federal Direct Loans accepted after the following priority deadlines may not be processed. Please review the important dates below to ensure the timely processing of your direct loan funds.

To receive funding from a Federal Direct, the borrower is required to accept the loan via their UAccess Student Center. First time borrowers will also be required to complete Loan Entrance Counseling and sign their Master Promissory Note. Full instructions can be found on our website.

Students and parents must accept Federal Direct Loans before the end of the academic term for which they (or their students) are registered. If students are not registered for the spring term, their federal loans must be accepted and processed before the end of the fall term.
