As you begin to prepare to join us for the Fall 2022 semester, we know you may be wondering how all your expenses and financial aid balance out. There are many varying costs that University of Arizona students need to consider such as choosing to live on campus versus off campus, which meal plan to sign up for, and how to account for the costs of required books.
The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid is excited to offer a new workshop, Determining Your Out of Pocket Costs, open to all incoming first year students and their supporters. This workshop will help you calculate your expected expenses for the year and understand how your offered financial aid can help to offset the costs.
Workshops will be held every first Thursday of the month, via Zoom in Arizona time:

This summer, the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA) will be hosting Investing in Your Education, a brand new workshop to help students better understand their student loan options. Our workshop will walk you through:
the difference between subsidized and unsubsidized loans
how to calculate how much you will need to borrow
an understanding of repayment options after you graduate
Workshops will be held virtually on zoom every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 4:00 pm (Arizona time):

Perfecting Your Scholarship Search Workshop
Scholarship Universe is our streamlined, unique scholarship matching database, created right here at the University of Arizona for Wildcats like you! To help you get the most out of Scholarship Universe, the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid is hosting a monthly AzAidSmart workshop: Perfecting Your Scholarship Search. This workshop will equip you with the tools you need to become a Scholarship Universe super user! Take-aways from this session include how to maximize your search so you spend your time in the portal wisely, utilize the statistics feature so you narrow down the opportunities that are most likely to turn into $$ for you, and turn your partial matches into complete matches, increasing your chances to be selected.

Financial Aid for Indigenous Wildcats
Financial Aid for Indigenous Wildcats is a customized workshop, focused on helping Native students get the answers to their financial aid related questions. This workshop will cover FAFSA basics and include information regarding tribal aid.
Maximizing Your Time & Money Workshop
The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, in partnership with Wayfinders, is offering a workshop to help students make the most of both their time in school and their financial aid. This two-part session starts with a review of your Academic Advisement Report, which outlines your program requirements and can be used to create a semester by semester plan. Next, you will learn how to maintain the financial aid you are receiving year over year.
After attending this workshop, you will better understand how to maintain your financial aid eligibility, maximize your awarded funds, and continue to make progress towards graduation.

We encourage you to attend a session to better understand your next steps and learn which repayment plan is best for you. While this workshop is not required, we strongly encourage you to join us so you feel more prepared to begin making payments and to take proactive measures to get your loans paid off sooner.
